We are delighted to announce that Martin André will conduct a New Production of Janáček’s opera The Adventures of Mr. Broucek for Opera North, in the autumn of 2009.

Martin André will continue his close association with Orquestra Nacional do Porto, with 2 programmes at the turn of the year. The first one features 2 contrasting “Glorias”, by Poulenc and Vivaldi. In January, he will conduct The Planets by Holst.

January 2009
Martin André will open the 2009 Season in Casa da Música with his orchestra Momentum Perpetuum. They will give 2 New Year’s Day concerts, including music by Wagner, Sibelius, Berlioz and Barber.
...Britten’s War Requiem
March 2009
Martin André will open the renovated Concert Hall at the Royal College of Music, London, with 2 performances of Britten’s War Requiem.
...Return to Cambridge
March 2009
A concert featuring music by Rachmaninov, Elgar and Respighi will mark Martin André’s first return to Cambridge since he was a student. He will conduct the Cambridge University Music Society in King’s Chapel.
Beethoven and Purcell and Bach’s Mass in B Minor.

His close association with Collegium Musicum Bergen continues in 2009. The first visit presents music by Beethoven and Purcell, and later in the year, to mark the occasion of his 10th visit to CMB, they will perform Bach’s Mass in B Minor.

This is part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Martinů’s death in 1959.
