Before heading down south to watch the Ashes in Australia, Martin will return to Madeira to conduct the chamber orchestra there, and then visit Cheshire to take part in Clonter's Annual Opera Gala, which promises to be a colourful and much-loved event!
Martin is busy behind the scenes putting together some of the pieces of the jigsaw that will turn into the Islington Festival of Music and Art for 2026, which will be announced early next year, and take place throughout the Borough of Islington at the end of July.

  • Portuguese Stamp for the Maestro!

CTT Portugal, the Company which makes Stamps, has announced a new Series of 4 stamps to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Orquestra Clássica da Madeira, with whom Martin has established a long and happy working relationship. Martin is extremely thrilled that the orchestra and CTT decided that one of the stamps should be a photograph of Martin conducting the orchestra last year in Funchal, in a performance of Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 5. The stamp costs €1,20!
